Meet the Doctor

Dr. Karen Feeley was born and raised outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her parents were in the Peace Corp and served in Malaysia with Karen for 2 years. Dr. Karen was always interested in the medical field. She originally pursued nursing and then switched to pre-med. She became disenchanted with the medical profession and decided to pursue other pathways to help people in their journey towards wellness and health. She graduated from Life University chiropractic school magna cum laude in 1991. Dr. Karen continued at Life University serving as a research assistant as well as research faculty until 1994. Her research went beyond the typical understanding of the use of chiropractic for back pain into its benefits with autism, muscular dystrophy, asthma, AIDS and into the flow of energy through our nervous system. In her research, Dr. Karen has learned that chiropractic is almost endless in its benefits towards optimal health. In regards to her research on upper cervical subluxation, she has been published in peer reviewed chiropractic journals and presented topics pertaining to chiropractic research internationally. She continues to conduct research relating to the ongoing developments and benefits of chiropractic care. Dr. Karen has a large family practice that has served the health needs of the Tri-Cities area for over 15 years. Wellness Way Chiropractic located in Blountville, Tennessee was one of the first offices in the world to become apart of the Creating Wellness program.

Jean Buchanan, LMT, NCTMB, is the licensed massage therapist at Wellness Way Chiropractic, specializing in restorative massage – massage to help your body restore its natural health. A month later, Buchanan was in massage school, making a mid-life career change.
Buchanan attended the North Carolina School of Natural Healing in Asheville, NC (the same school as the therapist who inspired her career change). She earned her massage school diploma; certification from the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork; Tennessee Department of Health, Board of Massage Licensure massage therapist license; and Virginia Department of Health Professions, Board of Nursing certification as a massage therapist in 2005.
